# Rondar for herdr

Run agents in herdr on your machine. Continue the work in Rondar when you leave.

## Install

1. In herdr, run `herdr plugin install rondar-dev/herdr-rondar`. herdr shows the plugin source and its commands before it installs. Node 18 or newer is necessary.

2. Start herdr and run `herdr plugin action invoke rondar.login`. A browser page shows a code. Make sure that it is the code in herdr, then approve.

3. In herdr, accept the keys that the plugin offers.

4. Press **prefix u** on a pane to hand off its work.

## What the plugin does

**Continue in Rondar**

Press prefix u on a pane. The plugin pushes the branch if you agree, and a Rondar session continues the work in an isolated container, with a preview and a pull request.

**Decisions in the terminal**

Press prefix i. A popup lists the Rondar sessions that wait for you. Reply, open the preview, or read the diff without leaving herdr.

**Rondar state on each workspace**

Each workspace shows the state of its branch in Rondar: the pull request and its checks, a ready preview, a release that waits, and the decisions that wait. Add the $rondar token to your herdr sidebar rows to see it.

**An alert when a local agent is blocked**

When an agent in herdr waits for you, Rondar sends a notification to your phone and to the web.

**All your machines in one place**

Rondar Home shows the agents of each machine that runs herdr, blocked first. You can reply to a blocked agent from Rondar if you allow it for that machine.

**Previews, releases and MCP**

Share a preview of a branch, open the release page of a pull request, and give your local agents the Rondar MCP.

## What the plugin sends to Rondar

The plugin sends the state of each agent (working, blocked, idle), the agent name, the workspace label, the repository URL and the branch.

It never sends the text of a pane, unless you turn on send_excerpt in the plugin config. A handoff asks first before it adds the agent output.

Replies from Rondar reach a machine only when you allowed them on the sign-in page, and only while the bridge pane is open.

The plugin keeps its token in the herdr config directory of the plugin. You can revoke it in Settings → API tokens.

The plugin is open source: [rondar-dev/herdr-rondar](https://github.com/rondar-dev/herdr-rondar?utm_source=herdr). A question? [Contact us](/contact).
